Typography isn't just about picking a pretty font; it conveys emotions, expresses personality, sets the scene and brings stories to life. To prove such a point, the challenge is to design a double-page spread in a popular magazine style.
As a fashion lover, I've always been captivated by the W magazine designs. The visually striking, avant-garde and experimental layouts of the magazine became a key inspiration for the set brief. While the theme of the new issue explores the role of corsets in fashion and captures the emotive side of the forbidden but trembling Victorian love.
The developed designs feature textures created through screenprinting techniques and graphical assets crafted out of lace - the essential element of any corset.
