The main challenge for the project was to design a typographic-only zine

for the hip-hop subculture using the Helvetica typeface and subverting it

for any patterns or illustrations.

The hip-hop subculture is known for artists' bold statements and brave behaviour. While the idea of sharing tough experiences and life stories through hip-hop music inspired the zine creation, the main concept coveys the message of embracing the spirit of resilience. The harsh and uneven elements, along with torn and sharp patterns resemble the tough times before gathering back all the strength and becoming stronger.
